The short answer: Rockstar Games has confirmed the game, its setting, its lead characters, its console platforms, and its release date. We can also verify two songs used in official trailers: Tom Petty's “Love Is a Long Road” and The Pointer Sisters' “Hot Together.” As of September 3, 2026, Rockstar's official GTA VI pages do not publish a complete in-game soundtrack or radio-station lineup.

GTA 6 release date and platforms

Rockstar currently lists November 19, 2026 as the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two's latest investor results also list that date and name PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the announced platforms.

A PC version is not listed on those official release pages at the time of this update. That does not prove one will never arrive; it only means readers should not present a PC date as confirmed today.

Where GTA 6 takes place

The official description returns the series to modern-day Vice City and expands the setting across the fictional state of Leonida. Rockstar introduces Jason and Lucia as the central pair, caught in a criminal conspiracy after a score goes wrong.

That sunny, coastal setting gives the eventual radio lineup plenty of possible directions—from club music and Latin sounds to hip-hop, rock, pop, and regional programming. Those are editorial possibilities, not confirmed stations.

Which GTA 6 songs are confirmed?

Two promotional placements have strong first-party or rightsholder support:

  • Tom Petty — “Love Is a Long Road” appears in Trailer 1. The Tom Petty estate directly confirmed the placement.
  • The Pointer Sisters — “Hot Together” appears in Trailer 2. The group's official site identifies it as the featured song.

Both tracks are real and verified, but neither is currently confirmed as an in-game radio song. Music licensed for a trailer is not automatically proof that it will appear on a station.

Rockstar's August 2026 extended look also contains licensed music, but Rockstar has not published an official song-by-song credit list on its GTA VI pages. We are not treating fan transcriptions or leaked lists as database confirmation.

Rockstar has not yet provided enough detail for a station-by-station breakdown. It is reasonable to expect radio to remain important because the series has long used stations to build atmosphere, satire, and a sense of place—but the exact hosts, genres, songs, and format remain open questions.
