The ideal GTA playlist should sound like five people fighting over an aux cable while a sixth person quietly misses the motorway exit. Too consistent and you have a gym playlist. Too tasteful and you have a furniture showroom. I want emotional whiplash with functioning indicators.

The reported music selections in GTA VI's Extended Look understand the assignment. This is the kind of lineup that makes you discover a new favorite artist and immediately wonder whether your dad was secretly cool. Horrifying development. No accessibility setting for that.

Your road trip now requires emotional supervision

Read those names together. Sexyy Red. Captain & Tennille. Phil Collins. This is not a passenger list I would trust with a peaceful group chat.

That collision is the appeal. My imaginary drive starts with absolute confidence, passes through a questionable decision, and ends with Phil Collins making me reconsider a relationship I invented at the last traffic light. The vehicle has suffered minor damage. The driver has suffered character development.

Give me the Bellamy Brothers after a disastrous mission and suddenly I am a relaxed citizen enjoying the scenery. Ignore the bumper. The bumper is between me and my insurer.

The best discovery happens when your taste loses control

I like game radio when it interrupts my habits. Left alone with a streaming app, I will rotate the same twelve songs until the algorithm files a missing-person report. Put me inside a fictional car and I become suspiciously open-minded.

Maybe Prefab Sprout gets the next ten minutes. Maybe I go looking for more Aluna and Jayda G. Maybe Cliff Richard receives an apology from a man who spent his entire adolescence dismissing anything his relatives recognized.

That is the real prize here: music discovery smuggled into the evening under the cover of reckless driving. A recommendation engine with worse parking.

Do not turn this table into a fake station announcement

A song identified in promotional footage does not, by itself, tell us its final station, availability, or role in the released game. We are not assigning station names or treating this table as the complete licensed soundtrack.

For the separately documented earlier trailer tracks, visit our GTA VI music guide, including Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road and The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together.

My entirely subjective verdict: the range is the selling point. I want a soundtrack that occasionally grabs the wheel of my taste and takes an exit I would never choose. If I finish a gaming session with three new favorite songs and an embarrassing search history about soft rock, the evening has been productive.
